Test Drive the EMC Cloud Infrastructure and Services (CIS) Labs Using NDG’s NETLAB+

A clear understanding of cloud computing is a must for students hoping to enter the IT workforce. In 2012, IDC reported that more than 1.7 million jobs related to cloud computing remained unfilled worldwide. The reason for this is lack of training and certification. To help prepare them for successful careers in a transforming IT industry, EMC offers free technology-based courseware to faculty through our Academic Alliance program. Specifically, the EMC Cloud Infrastructure and Services (CIS) is a “cloud essentials” course for all IT professionals responsible for server, storage, networking, and applications.

Note: A laptop computer is required to fully participate. Participants will receive a copy of the EMC Cloud Infrastructure and Services (CIS) course book.

This workshop is designed for faculty members currently teaching Information Systems and/or Information/Communication Technology–related courses who want to provide students a foundational understanding of storage and data management and how those systems support and enable virtualization, cloud, data center and network infrastructures and services. If your school/program is currently teaching other certifications in areas such as networking and virtualization, this workshop will provide an excellent vehicle for you to develop plans and content to align your courses with emerging IT management trends and best practices.

ProctorU

Live online proctoring service for test takers taking exams online. ProctorU proctors use a three-step process to replicate the face-to-face proctoring experience over the Internet. Through this process, our proctors can see the test taker, see what they are doing, and know who they are monitoring. We do this while adhering to the highest accreditation standards in the industry. The workshop will outline technology tools and procedural methods to combat the growing fraud in distance education programs.
